14 May 2017

In presence of HE Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Al Thani, President of Qatar Olympic Committee, BRAMETOT brought a second classic success to Al Shaqab when winning the Abu Dhabi Poule d’Essai des Poulains (Group 1) (French Guineas for 3 Y/O Colts) at Deauville, France, on Sunday, 14 May 2017. The Jean-Claude Rouget-trained colt, who had just won the Prix de Fontainebleau (Group 3), imposed himself by in front of Le Brivido, after a wonderful battle. Both horses were ridden at the back of the field and came on one side of the track.

HE Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Al Thani received the trophy. The Andre Fabre-schooled and Pierre-Charles Boudot-ridden LE BRIVIDO was second. The William Haggas-saddled and Frankie Dettori-ridden RIVET was third.

Cristian Demuro, BRAMETOT’s jockey, explained: "I had to come early because the horses in front of me did not accelerate. Once in front, he slowed down a little and then accelerated again when he saw his rival. He is a champion!" Brametot should now aim the QIPCO Prix du Jockey Club.
