MOUNTASER LAFFAN impresses again, TIBRAH AL SHAQAB is Mares Champion

For the second straight year, MOUNTASER LAFFAN was adjudged as the Champion Stallion in the 8th Qatar International Arabian Peninsula Horse Show even as TIBRAH AL SHAQAB won the championship gold among the Mares in the two day competition that concluded at Al Shaqab on Friday.

Many officials and dignitaries attended the two-day horse show, which was organised by the QREC, including HE Sultan Al Khater, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce and Board Member of Daam, HE Sheikh Nawaf Bin Nasser Al Thani, owner of Al Nasser Stud, HE Sheikh Hamad Bin Ali Al Thani, Al Shaqab Breeding and Show Manager, Hamad Bin Abdulrahman Al Attiyah, President of Qatar Equestrian Federation and Vice Chairman of QREC, Nasser Bin Sherida Al Kaabi, QREC General Manager, and Abdulrahman Al Mannai, Vice CEO of Daam.

Owned by Jassim Kayed Al Muhannadi, Mountaser Laffan had won the seventh edition of the horse show last year, and on Friday, he beat Hamad Mohammed Al Hajri’s SIMEON SEBEDEE and Mohammad Abdulrahman Ali Saeeda Al Nuaimi’s HABOOB.

Tibrah Al Shaqab, a year after winning bronze, was adjudged Champion Mare, beating the likes of Al Rayyan Farm’s MENOUAH AL RAYYAN and Al Nasser Stud’s MAISA AL NASSER.

2yos locked out the top two spots in the championship round for junior fillies. El Msareer Stud’s DHEBA MSAREER, who had topped Class 2B on Day One on Thursday, won gold ahead of Class 2A winner NADRAH AL NASSER. TOYA AL ROWDHA, the yearling who won Class 1A on Thursday, was the second bronze winner on the day for Mohammad Abdul Rahman Ali Saeed Al Nuaimi. QREC General Manager Nasser Bin Sherida Al Kaabi presented the trophies to the winners.
Jabor Nasser Al Kuwari’s ASEEL AL JASASIYA won gold among the Junior Colts, while Al Rayyan Farm’s Yearling, JAFFAL AL RAYYAN, won silver ahead of Al Fahed Stud’s JULAIBEEB AL FAHED. Abdulrahman Al Mannai, Vice CEO of the Social and Sports Activities Support Fund (Daam), presented the trophies to winners of this class.
